Variety reported that a new Halloween movie has been announced by original Halloween director John Carpenter. David Gordon Green (All the Real Girls, Our Brand is Crisis) is set to direct and write the script with comedic actor Danny McBride. Those two have previously collaborated on Pineapple Express and Eastbound and Down. Halloween had previously been rebooted in 2007 by Rob Zombie without the participation of Carpenter. McBride has promised that, even though their previous collaborations have been comedic, his and Green’s script will be “dark and vicious.”
