Trailer #2 | The Circle

The second trailer for the film adaptation of Dave Eggers‘ novel The Circle was released Thursday morning. Starring Emma Watson, Tom Hanks, and John Boyega, the sci-fi thriller asks questions about the consequences of fully immersive digital surveillance through cell phones. The new trailer goes more in depth into Watson’s character, Mae, showing bits of her personal life and emphasizing her journey as a new employee of the surveillance company. Other notable differences from the first trailer include a considerably lighter tone, and snippets of Ellar Coltrane‘s role in the movie as Mae’s concerned friend, Mercer. The Circle is directed by James Ponsoldt (The Spectacular Now) and will be in theaters April 28.

I'm currently a Journalism/Cinema Studies student. I'm an aspiring screenwriter, but I get just as much joy from discussing other people's films. Apparently I cried the whole way home from the theater after seeing the 1997 gorilla adventure "Buddy," so whatever that means. @jacobhampton26
